My head feels like it is going to explode but tonight this will be two days with no sugar. The evening for me is truly the witching hour. Last night, I was craving something sweet so badly that I contemplated going to the Store. Now I am not talking the grocery store, I am talking the Store I work in. I was going to go there because I knew there were Purdy's chocolate bars in the fridge. Pathetic, yes I am. I almost had myself convinced to do the old "I'll just eat this and start fresh tomorrow". I know better, tomorrow always comes and I give myself one more day...
Found an interesting product to replace the Brown Sugar in my oatmeal. That would be agave syrup. I haven't tried it yet and it could taste like crap, but it is an option.
On the medical front...My Mom is going in on May 13th (her birthday) for the removal of her brain tumours. My Dad, my sister and I will all be there, so it will be a family affair. I guess the surgery is a birthday gift of sorts and hopefully the first in a series of positive steps. Thank you again for all of your good thoughts.
Did some work in the backyard this weekend. My Husband is building a little retaining wall of sorts which should help us even out the yard a bit. I planted a few trees which will add a bit more life to our backyard. It is big and empty, so it needs some life back there. We chose a Magnolia tree, a Maple tree and an Apple tree. So far they seem to be doing well and growing.
So did everyone have a happy National Scrapbook Day? I worked at the Store on Saturday while we had our All day Crop. It was a very nice group of ladies, they were actually quite quiet. I sense that there were many layouts/projects completed during those 10 hours. I remember when we used to go to the All Day crops at the Coquitlam Clipper Street. Those were the days when I could devote ten hours to scrapbooking at my fave LSS. My how times have changed. I guess that is what two kids and working at the fave LSS do to my spare time.
