Sometimes being a parent is a real butt-kicker! It seems as though it is just a constant cycle of problems and problem solving. Which I guess is what life is. It seems like once you solve the problem of getting your child to eat dinner, then breakfast becomes the enemy. This morning if there was a brick wall close by, I would have rammed my head through it:) Oh my goodness, the whole school morning routine is proving to be a challenge. I know this too shall pass and I will regain my sanity in about fifteen years--right?
I went grocery shopping this morning and now have the kitchen stocked with all sorts of healthy goodies. None of which Sir Evan will want to eat I am sure. He is going through this stage of not wanting to be watched while he is eating. Not sure where this came from. I don't know of anyone that has poked fun of him while he was eating. The Dr. says that a healthy child will not starve and not to stress. So easy for the health professional and not so easy for the Mom. I have visions of a notice coming home in his backpack. Excuse me Ms. Wakelin, but your child has scurvy and do you not feed him? Yes, that was melodramatic but that is just the kind of morning it was.
We are heading into Fall and it is time for swimming lessons. This time both Evan and Taylor will be taking a class. Evan is repeating a level because the teacher felt he wasn't confident enough performing his front floats. Taylor will be working on the first level--kind of hard to believe. Luckily, I was able to register them in back to back classes so we only have to head to the pool twice in a week, instead of four times.
Also registered Evan in a learning to Rollerblade class. He seems interested in being a goalie on a roller hockey team. We will see if that interest is still there when he knows how to Rollerblade. Even if it isn't it is still a good thing to know how to do.
The weather has been down right gorgeous lately. Although a bit too warm for Sept. I like it to be warm enough for no coat but not too warm. Okay, now I am just being picky.
Well time to head to the school to pick up the no-breakfast-eating boy child. Then it will be a mad dash of house cleaning,dr. appt's and more house cleaning. I am not going to lie, the first week of school kicked my butt. I had been stupid enough to spend a couple of late nights working on a submission and that made me tiiiirrrred:) Much wiser this week and headed to bed early last night.
Hope you are enjoying your Monday.
